Personal Physical Therapy Practice Philosophy
Physical therapy is about practicing & promoting stewardship of our bodies.
I believe that our bodies are amazing gifts. They are tools, vehicles, toys, machines, sources of imagination, creativity, connection and intelligence that allow us to experience the joys and disappointments of life. As a physical therapist it is my responsibility to provide knowledge and tools to prevent injury of the body, treat impairments that limit function, and ignite enthusiasm for health and wellness in others.
Physical therapy is about approaching patients holistically.
Patients are more than just an injury or pathology. A holistic approach ensures that patient care meets the level of excellence that each patient deserves. This requires giving thorough thought and consideration into each patient as a unique and complex individual, as well as valuing the patient’s expertise of their body, and approaching each patient with a seamless balance of confidence and humility.
Above all else, physical therapy is an opportunity to serve others.
Physical therapy is a patient centered profession that empowers others to experience life fully. Therefore, I have the responsibility of patient advocacy, community involvement, patient education, and treating under served areas and populations. Each is an avenue to serve others through the practice of physical therapy that provides influence beyond the doors of the clinic.
